Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nerdysnake Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the KindaSorta mobile game (the "App"). We built KindaSorta to be a calm, distraction-free game, and we've kept our data practices just as simple: we collect the minimum needed to run the game and its leaderboards, and we never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

KindaSorta does not ask you to create a separate account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location. The only information we collect is what's needed to identify you on the leaderboards and run the game:

• Game Center identifier. When you sign in with Apple Game Center, we receive a player identifier that Apple assigns to you for this App. We use it as your account key. It is not your Apple ID and cannot be used to log in to other apps.
• Display name. The nickname shown on leaderboards, provided through Game Center.
• Country and language. A coarse region and locale (e.g., "US," "en") supplied by Game Center, used to localize content and group leaderboards.
• Gameplay records. Information generated as you play — such as levels played, scores, number of moves used, and how long a level took — so we can compute scores and rank leaderboards.
• App version. The version of the App you're running, used for compatibility and troubleshooting.

We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How we use information

We use the information above only to:

• Authenticate you and maintain your in-game profile;
• Calculate scores and display global and weekly leaderboards;
• Serve the right game levels and content for your language and region;
• Operate, maintain, debug, and improve the App;
• Protect the integrity of the game, including detecting cheating or abuse and enforcing our Terms of Service;
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising or profiling.

3. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Your information is shared only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers / infrastructure. We host the App's backend on servers we operate, and we may use trusted infrastructure providers (for example, server hosting) that process data solely on our behalf and under our instructions.
• Other players. Your display name, score, and rank are visible to other players on leaderboards. This is the inherent purpose of a leaderboard.
• Legal compliance. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is required by law — for example, to comply with a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful government request — or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of our users or the public.
• Business transfers. If Nerdysnake Software LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Game Center & Apple

KindaSorta uses Apple's Game Center for sign-in and identity. Your use of Game Center is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only the limited Game Center information described above and do not receive your Apple ID, email, or password.

5. Data retention

We keep your profile and gameplay records for as long as your account is active so that your scores and leaderboard standings persist. You can permanently delete your account at any time directly in the app, under Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account immediately removes your profile and associated gameplay records and leaderboard scores from our systems. You may also contact us (see below) to request deletion. In either case, we may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

6. Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at admin@nerdysnake.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and as required by applicable law.

We do not sell personal information, so there is no "opt out of sale" to exercise. You can also stop all data collection by signing out of Game Center and uninstalling the App.

7. Children's privacy

KindaSorta is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect in the first place.

9. International users

We operate the App from our servers and may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you live. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
